Making money online. It`s one of the many reasons you may start a blog. I am not saying it has to be the main one, but for many bloggers, money does add a bit of motivation.
There are many ways to make money online. One is with Adsense. This is one of the most common ways that bloggers make money online. But depending on what you choose to blog about, Adsense may or may not pay off. If your the topics you choose are what advertisers are fighting to target, you may make a few bucks. But unless you get a lot of traffic, it is one the least profitable ways to make money from a blog. Oh, put Adsense or other click or impression based ads on your site if you like, but don`t make it your focus.
Then there are paid posts. You get paid once. And you write a post about something you may or may not have an interest in. There is plenty to choose from, but it still feels a bit like doing piece work in a sweat shop. Don`t you think you are worth a bit more?
I can`t remember where I read this, but if you don`t have a degree and you want to get rich, you have the best odds in sales. And the reason, commission.
Getting commission in the brick and mortar world is hard work. Talking a customer into buying a car is not an easy job. And then the salesman has to move onto to the next car. He is also limited by location. He can`t sell Chevy`s two states away.
I was never cut out for this kind of sales, but I found a something close in affiliate marketing. But better. As an affiliate marketer, you are like that car salesman, but you can work for anyone and sell their products just about everywhere there is an internet connection.
What can you sell as an affiliate marketer? Just about anything you can think of. Go to your blog. Look at a few posts. Think of some products that might go with them. Then put the product`s name and affiliate into a Google search and see what comes up. I bet you find some companies are begging for you to sell their products.
Signups are usually about as easy as joining a forum. You may have to give a tax I.D or Social Security Number for tax purposes. Some pay by Paypal, some by check and some Direct deposit. Some pay once a month. Some pay every two weeks. One is considering weekly paycheck for it`s affiliates.
And while you don`t get a salary as an affiliate marketer, you can make higher commission. I have seen a 75% commission on many affiliate products. Affilaite commissions are sometimes low, like 5%. But that is still better than a few cents every time someone clicks.
With affiliate blogging, the results of your work continue after you are done. If you are paid to write a post, you won`t get paid for that same post months from now. But if you write about a product in a post and put an affiliate link there, your post will be there as long as you have your blog.
And if you continue to write good content and promote your blog, you will continue to see sales from that link this month, next month and for many months to come. And if some of that new content has affiliate links also, the same goes for it.
Affiliate marketing is a great way to make money online and the route to a business that multiplies whatever work you put into it.
